Fast, Dynamic, and Ambitious: Unzer to Support the German National Rugby Sevens Team
Unzer will be supporting the men's rugby sevens team of the German Rugby Federation as its new sponsor. The team, which is also known as the "Wolfpack", will be taking part in the two tournaments of the World Rugby Sevens Series in Spain for the first time with Unzer as its jersey sponsor.
As a sport, rugby is dynamic, action-packed and fast-paced. These are characteristics that also apply to the constantly changing world of payment. The Unzer logo is set to adorn the players' jerseys for the first time at the two tournaments of the World Rugby Sevens Series to be held in Spain. These will take place in Malaga (January 21 to 23) and Seville (January 28 to 30). Sevens rugby is a version of rugby union in which each team has 7 players instead of the usual 15. However, the matches are played on the same pitches. This leads to even more intensive, faster and higher scoring games. It should therefore come as no surprise that this is a genuine growth sport that is enjoying ever greater popularity. Thanks to the shorter playing time (just 7 minutes per half, increased to 10 minutes per half for the final), it is also possible to complete an entire tournament in just a few days. The World Rugby Sevens Series is a great example of this. Since the German team is stepping in as a substitute, a new sponsor had to be found at short notice. This is where Unzer came in.

The "Wolfpack" last took part in the event held in autumn 2021 in Vancouver and Edmonton. After finishing 9th in Vancouver, the team did even better in Edmonton - delivering impressive performances against teams including Great Britain, Hong Kong and Ireland - and ultimately defeating the USA in a dramatic match to take 5th place. As such, not only are the European champions from 2019 blessed with a great deal of potential, they are hungry for success and keen to take their place among the sport's top teams.
