The partnership creates lean branch processes, simplifies billing, and enables a focus on patient care
Berlin, September 21, 2024 – The payment company Unzer has developed a checkout solution specifically for medical supply stores together with M Assist GmbH. M Assist is a specialized management consultancy for service providers in the healthcare sector, such as medical supply stores or homecare and medical technology companies. This partnership combines Unzer's expertise in payments and cash registers with M Assist's extensive industry knowledge in the healthcare sector. Together, they strive to modernize and fundamentally streamline store operations.

The integrated software checkout system helps healthcare providers manage their product range and warehouse more efficiently and process invoices faster. It relies on traditional retail's proven standards and advantages, adding specialized functions rather than developing them from scratch.
Given the shortage of skilled workers, estimated to affect over 90% of orthopedic technology companies and medical supply stores, making filling vacancies in the medical profession considerably challenging, the solution offers an important relief. With the mobile mini-POS Go, billing can also be done directly on-site, for example, during home visits or in rehabilitation facilities. The checkout also impresses with modern payment solutions, such as Apple Pay. It won't solve the shortage of skilled workers or the increasing administrative burden. Still, it will help to increase efficiency and relieve employees of time-consuming administrative tasks, allowing them to focus fully on advising patients.
Another plus is that the user-friendly interface enables quick familiarization. While conventional POS systems require two or more training days, staff can start with Unzer iPad cashier systems in less than an hour. This helps to increase productivity and counteracts the increasing shortage of skilled workers.
The cashier systems have already been successfully implemented in four branches of the medical supply store Orthomed. The plan now is to introduce the solution across other facilities to support even more service providers in optimizing their processes. In doing so, Unzer and M Assist want to relieve the burden on specialist staff further.
